A while back I posted about a stupid question asked in Yahoo! Answers, and afterward I decided to join and provide my infinite useless knowledge to the masses. As it turns out, many stupid people have questions!

I’m sure many of the people who use Yahoo! Answers are younger, less educated people, but everyone who is able to use a computer should be able to ask a complete and sensible question.

I have to pose my own questions, then. What makes people think they are going to get help – an answer to their question – when they phrase the question so poorly that you aren’t even sure what they are really asking? How do you answer a question that someone really needs help with, but the question does not make sense?

I’ll list some examples of true brilliance. I can’t make this shit up. These questions were really asked. You’ll have to trust me, or search for yourself. Continue reading »

Help end world hunger at
http://www.freerice.com/

I meant to post this a while back, but I’ve been too busy participating!

You can help end world hunger and improve your vocabulary at the same time! All you have to do is go to http://www.freerice.com/ and click the most acceptable definition of the provided word! For each word you get correct, you earn 20 grains. Five answers earns 100 grains, and only 50 answers earns 1000 grains!

What is the significance of this? It only takes 1450 correct answers to donate one pound of rice! If you answer 50 questions a day, you earn more than a pound of rice each month. It may not sound like much, but once you get started, you’ll see how quickly the rice adds up. I’ve already earned 12000 grains of rice and it’s only been three days! Continue reading »

Occasionally, I happen upon a site that inspires me, and Ricardo Salamanca’s site Salamagica does just that.

I dabble in Photoshop. Okay… I’m obsessed with it. I use Photoshop every day that I have access to my computer, though nothing comes of it most times. I’m always looking for new ways to do things using Photoshop, and Ricardo Salamanca has found them.

Visually stunning, his works inspire me to work harder at finding the set of tools in Photoshop that will work best for me. Visit his site Salamagica. You’re in for a treat.

I just upgraded my WordPress installation from v2.6 to v2.6.1 so if you notice any bugs, please let me know. I’ve also changed to a simple but non-generic WordPress theme.

It’s a post-tastic day since a hurricane is currently limiting my activities. Here’s another random tidbit of online awesomeness:

School locked down after ‘ninja’ sighted in woods
The Associated Press [June 25, 2008]

Ninja captured on 1-Million FPS camera.

BARNEGAT, N.J. – It’s the case of the nonexistent ninja. Public schools in Barnegat were locked down briefly after someone reported seeing a ninja running through the woods behind an elementary school.

Turns out the ninja was actually a camp counselor dressed in black karate garb and carrying a plastic sword.

Police tell the Asbury Park Press the man was late to a costume-themed day at a nearby middle school.

The lockdown began shortly after 9 a.m. Wednesday and lasted until 9:30.

A question was posted to Yahoo! Answers that has caught the attention of many people. It has become the object of many jokes, and much ridicule. This question was actually removed from Yahoo! Answers for reasons not stated, but a copy of the question can be found cached by Google here.
