MTV and Harmonix have sealed the deal in creating a “Rock Band” style game featuring the Beatles. While the game will not be called Rock Band, it will work with the existing instruments. It won’t contain all of the Beatles songs, however, but it will sample from the entire discography from Please Please Me through Let It Be. It will also mark the first time the Beatles go digital – legitimately. All I can say is good luck trying to play While My Guitar Gently Weeps on hard! George Harrison and Eric Clapton have set the bar impossibly high.
I read this elsewhere and had to post it:
Once upon a time, in a village, a man appeared and announced to the villagers that he would buy monkeys for $10 each.
The villagers seeing that there were many monkeys around, went out to the forest, and started catching them. The man bought thousands at $10 and as supply started to diminish, the villagers stopped their effort. He further announced that he would now buy at $20. This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys again.
Soon the supply diminished even further and people started going back to their farms. The offer increased to $25 each and the supply of monkeys became so little that it was an effort to even see a monkey, let alone catch it! The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at $50 ! However, since he had to go to the city on some business, his assistant would now buy on behalf of him.
In the absence of the man, the assistant told the villagers. “Look at all these monkeys in the big cage that the man has collected. I will sell them to you at $35 and when the man returns from the city, you can sell them to him for $50 each.” The villagers rounded up with all their savings and bought all the monkeys. Then they never saw the man nor his assistant, only monkeys everywhere!
Now you have a better understanding of how the stock market works.
I find investing in the stock market just as smart as buying money. You’ve seen the commercials on TV. They sell silver dollars for $25 each
, and each silver dollar is worth $1.47 sold as silver and $1.00 if you spend it as money. You spend the $100 now on four of these silver dollars, and when you’re flat broke and have nothing but those silver dollars left
, you have successfully invested your $100 of savings in $4.00 worth of pocket change. It’s not like you can pawn them either. The guy at the pawn shop will look at your four silver dollars and give you $2.75 in cash for it. Much like a stock broker!
In light of my already sack-deep political vibe on this site, I’ve decided to continue the anti-campaign for McCain-Palin. I don’t consider myself a Democrat, and I believe the two-party system is obsolete, but I’m definitely anti-Republican. To continue my anti-campaign for the McCain-Palin ticket, I present to you the following: Continue reading »
For those of you who have never seen a literal music video, I’m pleased to present you with your first taste. A literal music video takes a music video and changes the lyrics to match what is actually going on in the video. Many times, it is just textual lyrics at the bottom of the video, but for the best instances, the vocals are actually replaced. This is what separates literal music videos from magical literal music videos. Here are two such magical literal music videos Continue reading »
I once frequented a site called SpikedHumor, but when it started turning into what I call YouTube Repost Central, I stopped going there as often. If I wanted to see YouTube videos, I’d fucking go to YouTube!
Anyway, I went to SpikedHumor last night and saw a video that took geekdom to another level.
I’m not sure what the kid’s name is, but he has created his own instrument as a combination of a baby piano, ukulele, and a kazoo… That’s right… A kazoo! What’s more interesting than the instrument is that he has chosen to cover Europe’s Final Countdown. I’ve posted the video below. Epic.
