Once upon a time, in a village, a man appeared and announced to the villagers that he would buy monkeys for $10 each.

The villagers seeing that there were many monkeys around, went out to the forest, and started catching them. The man bought thousands at $10 and as supply started to diminish, the villagers stopped their effort. He further announced that he would now buy at $20. This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys again.

Soon the supply diminished even further and people started going back to their farms. The offer increased to $25 each and the supply of monkeys became so little that it was an effort to even see a monkey, let alone catch it! The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at $50 ! However, since he had to go to the city on some business, his assistant would now buy on behalf of him.

In the absence of the man, the assistant told the villagers. “Look at all these monkeys in the big cage that the man has collected. I will sell them to you at $35 and when the man returns from the city, you can sell them to him for $50 each.” The villagers rounded up with all their savings and bought all the monkeys. Then they never saw the man nor his assistant, only monkeys everywhere!

I find investing in the stock market just as smart as buying money. You’ve seen the commercials on TV. They sell silver dollars for $25 each , and each silver dollar is worth $1.47 sold as silver and $1.00 if you spend it as money. You spend the $100 now on four of these silver dollars, and when you’re flat broke and have nothing but those silver dollars left , you have successfully invested your $100 of savings in $4.00 worth of pocket change. It’s not like you can pawn them either. The guy at the pawn shop will look at your four silver dollars and give you $2.75 in cash for it. Much like a stock broker!

Anyway, I went to SpikedHumor last night and saw a video that took geekdom to another level.

I’m not sure what the kid’s name is, but he has created his own instrument as a combination of a baby piano, ukulele, and a kazoo… That’s right… A kazoo! What’s more interesting than the instrument is that he has chosen to cover Europe’s Final Countdown. I’ve posted the video below. Epic.

What followed was nothing less than pure magic.

I don’t know about you, but I’m voting twice just because she told me to. And if you’re wondering how I’m planning on voting, just watch this next video.

I’m good at following instructions. Starting tomorrow, I begin my 3-pack a day cigarette habit. And I think I’m going to peruse the classifieds to find a really really old horse.

One of my projectionists pointed out that the picture was almost completely dark in one of the auditoriums, and asked if I would come take a look at the lamp.

I took a peek into the lamphouse thinking we were back to the same issue we had several months earlier, and to my surprise, I saw a planet forming!

I killed the rectifier and let the lamp cool down, opened the door, and this is what I saw:

And upon closer inspection after replacing the lamp, here’s what I was left with:

So, as you can see, the lamp decided that it wanted to be swirled black and blue with white clouds. It was the coolest thing I’ve ever seen a Xenon do. I mean, aside from exploding and killing people in the face.

The real question: WWJD? Fortunately, we have an amazing video to show you the answer!

I started watching Californication to see if it was as good as the other Showtime series that I watch. I have to say, it’s not quite as good as Dexter, in my opinion, but it is definitely funnier than Weeds.

I watched the whole first season on Showtime On Demand, and as I scrolled down the list I noticed that episode 12 was listed as the season finale, but there was an episode 13 listed!

Could it be? Could they have accidentally added the season two premier to the On Demand list before it actually premiers?!?

INDEED, THEY DID!

Now, I’ve checked the On Demand list tonight – one day before the season two premier – and now there’s an EPISODE 14 listed!

The only thing that could make me happier is if they accidentally added the first episode of season three of Dexter. Thanks to DVD Screeners, however, I’ve already seen the first episode.

So, if you have Showtime On Demand and you watch Californication, check out the first two episodes of season two. I’m not sure if the additions are limited to BrightHouse Networks, but I’m almost certain that it’s not.
