Holy crap! It’s been over a year since Tango Smileys Extended was updated! What happened?!?

The truth is, TSE reached a stable point and I didn’t have it in me to make any more changes. Why fix what’s not broken?

Unfortunately, something was broken, only I didn’t see it. Even when it was reported that there was a problem, I couldn’t figure out the issue so I didn’t know what to fix. As it turns out, special characters such as quotes and symbols are escaped by WordPress. Escaping this < turns it into this <. When followed by a right parenthesis, ), TSE would take <) and turn it into <Wink which is WRONG. Once I realized what was causing the problem, the solution was simple, which leads us to this update.

There has also been an update to the options page. Users can select any smiley size from 16px to 24px to better fit their theme. Users may also specify a percentage for the width of the comment smiley box.

As always, the full change log and information can be found here, and Tango Smileys Extended can be downloaded here.
